I am on a tight budget. Can I afford bespoke invitations?

Although Design Fairy stationery is bespoke, we have designs for a variety of budgets, with prices starting at £1.95 per invitation. Please feel free to get in touch with us, to discuss it further.

 

Is there a charge for a sample card?

As the Design Fairy range is bespoke, there is a nominal charge of £5.00 for a sample. However, this is deducted from your order cost.

 

Do you do consultations and what is involved?

Yes. If you are local, a visit is the best option, to discuss exactly what style of invitation etc you are after. If you are further afield, a consultation can be done by e-mail or telephone.

Before a consultation is done, it is helpful if you can consider key areas such as style, what items y you might want e.g. Invitations, “Save the Date” cards, RSVP cards, place cards, menus and favour boxes. If you have a colour scheme in mind a small sample of ribbon that matches your outfit, bridesmaids or flowers is particularly helpful.

A Consultation can take around one hour and the first consultation is free. Any additional consultations will be charged at £20.00 per hour, although if you have any queries, I am always happy top take a quick phone call or reply to an e-mail.

 

When should I order my stationery?

As all of the stationery is made by hand, it can take up to 6 weeks from when you approve the design, and approximately two weeks from the initial consultation until your sample stationery has been designed.

 

When should I send out my invitations?

Generally invitations are posted 2-3 months before your big day. Any sooner, than that and they can get lost or forgotten. Any later, can lead to your guests being double-booked!

If you are getting married during the Summer Holiday season, or at Christmas, Easter or on a Bank Holiday week-end, you may want to consider sending “Save the Date” cards out once you have confirmed the date of your celebration.

 

How many invitations will I need?

One invitation per household, but remember to include an invitation for parents and guests you know will be coming, to avoid disappointment!

Remember there will be some relatives who won’t be able to make the celebration, because they are too frail to travel, or live too far away. An invitation will still be expected, nonetheless. Order now, to start your relationship with the in-laws, on a positive note!

 

What can be done if I need more invitations?

Additional stationery can be added to your order. However, if some of the materials for your design have been specially ordered, there may be a further charge to cover priority post and packaging.

 

What can be done if I need more invitations AFTER my order has been completed?

The Design Fairy will always do her best in these circumstances, but cannot guarantee that it will be possible.

 

How and when is payment made?

Payment can be by cheque (to “Design Fairy”), credit transfer or PayPal.

When you have approved your design you will then pay half of the total order cost, to cover material costs, etc. The balance payment (minus any sample charge) will be required once your order is ready.
